7 police officers killed in Wajir IED attack

Seven police officers were killed in Wajir after the vehicle they were travelling in ran over an improvised explosive device (IED).

The 11am incident happened between Khoros-Harar and Konton in Wajir County on Saturday.

One police officer is however reported to have escaped unhurt as six others were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The officers were conducting security surveillance along the Kenya-Somalia border.
