Nigerian singer Wizkid is the perfect example of rags to riches but the riches do not hold him back from acknowledging his culture.
He lived in Los Angeles for two years but at that time, he spent a lot of money daily just to make sure he has Nigerian meals. He revealed he cannot go without eating Nigerian food.
WizKid disclosed this while on an interview with UK’s Capital Xtra on why he left Los Angeles, United States. It was simply because he was bored and mostly because of the constant lack of Nigerian delicacies.
I got bored in all honesty. first of all, I wasn’t getting Nigerian food as much as I wanted to. I tried to get a cook I remember and she had to work and so she would make food in the morbning and that is all you have to eat throughout the day. And I was paying three to four thousand dollars on food a day

He shocked the interviewer by saying,
I do not eat any other food apart from Nigerian food any where in the world. I am a local boy
The singer had gone silent for months but came back with hit tracks. In the past month, he has released two songs, Ghetto Love and Joro that is one of Kenyans favorite jams.
