The late John Michuki’s youngest daughter, Yvonne Wanja, has moved to court against her siblings blaming them for mounting losses in her late father’s multi-billion businesses.
Wanja has accused her two elder siblings of using money from the Michuki properties to their own personal use and general mismanagement of the estate that is allegedly leading to losses every year.
“The respondents have willingly failed to diligently administer the estate. They have hoodwinked the beneficiaries that they wish the estate to be distributed. All businesses under the estate have performed worse, year after year and debts have increased,” court papers read in part.
Wanja has also highlighted a Sh2.35 billion project spear-headed by one of her sisters, Ann Wanjiku Mutahi, as unfeasible. Wanijiku is the wife to former Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe.
Windsor Golf Country Club
The young Michuki also exposed that the luxurious Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club is Sh625 million in debt. She claims that the debt has accumulated even as the two siblings appointed as estate administrators have failed to declare income from the sale of other properties within the estate.
The accused Michuki children have termed their sister’s suit as “malicious and untrue”.
Wanja is the most outspoken of the six Michuki children having recently told her story of sexual abuse while she was still a child through an engage talk.
She has remained single into her 40s and has been vocal about not being interested in having children of her own.
“I think my work is where I am going to spend the rest of my life, time and energy. If I have children, I won’t be able to do it. Children are a responsibility and it will be a distraction and because I do believe in reincarnation, I say maybe next life I might,” she stated in a past interview with a local daily.
