Desperate Kisumu family appeals for help to trace missing 7-year-old son ▷ Kenya News

A Kisumu family is appealing to members of the public to help them trace the whereabouts of their only son who has been missing since Sunday, October 20.

The boy identified as Akif Malik was last seen conversing with two men who had been frequenting the estate where the family lived the week before his disappearance.

According to Citizen TV, after the seven-year-old boy went missing, the men also stopped frequenting the estate.

According to his friends who were playing with him when he was called by one of the men, they told the young boy that they were his uncles.

“I asked Akif, what was that man saying? he said the man claimed he was his uncle and that he was going to buy Akif sweets and take him to some places,” said a friend.

According to the friend, he further inquired to know what the young boy had seen inside the car to which he told him that a woman had been sleeping on the passenger seat.

“He also said he saw children at the back of the car as if they were sleeping,” he added.

The seven-year-old, a pupil at Maa Junior School at the Kenya Re estate, was picked by the men who are said to have been driving a red saloon car.

Multiple eyewitness claimed the car, a Toyota Vitz in which Akif was picked in, had been parked in the estate since Wednesday, October 16.

It is reported that the occupants of the car who hardly left it while in the compound, often asked about the boy.

Akif’s parents, Rashid Malik and Ruhina Malik reported the matter at Kondele Police Station which was booked on Sunday, October 20, under OB number 06/20/10/2019.

However, in an interesting turn of events, the management of the estate changed all the guards from a new security firm just a day after the seven-year-old went missing.
