Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga on Thursday cast his vote at the Old Kibra Primary School polling station in the Kibra constituency by-election.
The former Prime Minister spoke to the media shortly after he cast his ballot appealing to Kibra voters to come out and vote.
“I appeal to all our voters to come out of their residences and vote. We are in our bedroom and I urge our people to protect our bedroom against infiltration by strangers and outsiders,” Mr Odinga rallied.
The statement caused some observers in the mini-poll to question whether it could be taken as a campaign call.
The Orange party leader was accompanied by his wife Mama Ida Odinga and his daughter Rosemary Odinga who also cast their votes at the station.

Winnie Odinga had earlier cast her vote urging fellow voters to turn up stating that “…not voting is not a protest, it is surrender.”
The poll witnessed some irregularities including claims of voter bribery at Mashimoni Squatters and Old Kibra Primary School polling station.
Nairobi county police commander Philip Ndolo confirmed that two men and one woman had been arrested in connection with the bribery claims.
