Sarah Wairimu on Wednesday finally submitted a list of personal belongings that she wants to collect from her Sh400m marital home in Kitisuru.

Late last month, Justice Stella Mutuku directed the embattled wife of slain Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen to file a formal application listing the items she needs after she told the court that she doesn’t have any clothes and has been relying on relatives and friends.

Through her lawyer Philip Murgor, the prime suspect in the murder of her husband filed a formal application Wednesday seeking to be granted access to the crime scene.

Among other things, Ms Wairimu wants to be allowed to collect her two pet dogs – a Labrottie(Labrador/Rottweiler) breed christened ‘Major’, and ‘Snow’, a Doberman breed.

Court documents show she also wants to pick her music collection, golf equipment, shoes, handbags, grooming tools and wearable items.

Additionally, Sarah wants access to her house to pick a generator, beverages of a perishable nature including alcoholic and soft drinks stored in the kitchen and her office, and foodstuff.

Sarah also wants electronics (including music system and television sets), books, personal photographs, pictures, artwork, and files.

That is not all. Sarah also wants the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to release her motor vehicle to her and to make arrangements for dust covers to be placed on all furniture in the house.

Lawyer Murgor further accused the DCI of not serving his client with the inventory of her home, adding that she is apprehensive about the security of her house and her valuable items.

Basing her argument under presumption of innocence, Sarah said she should be allowed to keep the fabric of her life intact, which includes the right to drive her car, maintain employment, have access to her clothes and accessories and other facilities in her home.

“The applicant has lost a significant source of income and is therefore only capable of meeting her immediate subsistence needs and is constrained to further meet the cost of the purchase of new items,” court documents read.

“DCI is in illegal possession of the applicant’s home and her property which amounts to a gross violation of the applicant’s right to property under the constitution.”

On Tuesday, Sarah and her co-accused Peter Karanja pleaded afresh to murder charges, denying killing Tob Cohen between July 19 and July 20 at an unknown location.
