The success of Gengetone artistes Sailors started and picked very fast. They are now the most sought after artistes for events and collaborations.

We might not know it but they hustled their way to the top of the game.

For many of us fans, it seems they just came out of nowhere and blew up the industry.

Sailors took to social media to tell their story. Believe it or not, they used to walk a lot just to make it to the studio.

“Zile siku tulikuwa tunatembea several kilometres magizani ndio tufike studio alafu tukitoka past midnight inabidi tuombe lift kwa lorry za maziwa na mchanga have finally paid off.” Sailors Open up

They won the Pulse Music Video Award under New Wave Video of The Year for their song, Wainame and Best Collaboration of the Year for their song, Wakiritho featuring Octopizzo. This is why they are grateful.

‘We want to leave the ghetto’ Sailors saddened by the ban of their songs

Sailors did not take credit for it all. They thanked their management team and fans for the full support.

It’s been a great year for us and special thanks to everyone who has supported us all along na pia @theemwalimurachel na the whole management team @mrxtotheworldfor believing in us
