Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has recorded a statement at Kilimani Police Station accusing DP William Ruto of threatening his life.
An official from the governor’s office who spoke to Pulselive.co.ke confirmed that a threat was made on Mutua’s life at State House.
“…naye (William Ruto) akanishika mkono kwa nguvu akaniambia wewe jamaa nimeskia vile umesema, umekuwa ukinishambulia na sasa lazima nikugonge na nitakugonga, nitakufunza funzo (William Ruto gripped my hand and told me I have heard how you have been fighting me and now I will hit you, I’ll teach you a lesson),” Mutua said.
Duale and Murkomen named by Mutua
In the report, the governor also named Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
Mutua said Duale and Murkomen had threatened him for fighting Ruto politically.
“… Aden Duale na Kipchumba Murkomen walinitishia kuwa watanifunza funzo kwa madai ya kumshambulia Naibu Rais William Ruto (Aden Duale and Kipchumba Murkomen threatened me and told me they’ll teach me a lesson for fighting Deputy President William Ruto), ” he added.
Governor Mutua stated that the threats have been linked to his ambitions to vie for the presidency in the 2022 general elections.
