Close relatives of the police Officer Kipyegon Kenei who was found dead in his house have revealed receiving strange Mpesa transactions from Kenei hours before his disappearance.
A report done by Citizen TV revealed that Kenei’s wife Judith Kipyegon received a transaction of Ksh. 35,000 at 12.25 am on Wednesday morning.
Upon inquiring if the money was her’s Judy got no reply from her husband.
The two last spoke at 9.51 PM on Tuesday before the recovery of Kenei’s body on Thursday evening at his house in Imara Daima.
The wife said that she has never received such a huge amount of money from Kenei adding that the amount she has always received from her husband always ranges from Ksh. 1000 to Ksh. 3,000.
Apart from Judy, Kenei’s father also received Ksh. 10,000 at 7.32 am on Wednesday morning.
Kenei’s father says that his son did not explain to him what the money was meant for.
Kenei’s body was found dead on Thursday evening at his house in Imara Daima Estate.
He was expected to record a statement with the DCI who were investigating the Ksh 39 Billion fake arms deal that was reportedly signed in DP Ruto’s office at Harambee House.
