Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti is loved and hated in equal measures thanks to his zeal in righting the wrongs in society.

He has been in the news for leading investigations on the murder of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei.

To prove how risky his job is, Kinoti had in a past interview shared on how he survived after his bod was riddled with 28 bullets when he was ambushed by thugs.

In an exclusive interview with The Star, Kinoti says that he was headed for the morgue

“My intestines were on the tarmac and those who picked me up declared me dead.

On arrival at the hospital, the nurses placed a tag on me saying ‘dead’,” he said.

Kinoti recalled that it was on May 13, 2005, at around 8pm when he was driving alone towards town when he encountered two thugs robbing a woman motorist.

Now Kinoti is leading the investigations in the murder of Sergeant Kenei after he was found dead on February 20.

This is two days after communicating with his kin at his house in Villa Franca Estate in Imara Daima.

Kenei’s decomposing body was discovered in his house at Villa Franca Estate, Imara Daima.

This was after a neighbor alerted police of a foul smell.

Now, the police investigating the killing that Kinoti has branded “a cold blooded murder”.

Three men have been fingered for the crime and attempt to cover it up to make it look like suicide.

Kenei will be laid to rest on Saturday.
