A few days after releasing his well received ‘Corona’ song, gospel musician, Guardian Angel, says he’s irked by the ignorance portrayed by Kenyans towards the pandemic.

Speaking exclusively to Mpasho, Guardian Angel, says he was approached by the presidential music commission so as to help pass the message on the importance of staying safe by sanitizing and social distancing.

This he says has been made difficult by Kenyans especially in upcountry who only think, coronavirus is only limited to Nairobians.

He was shocked and surprised that even some Nairobians are not taking it seriously and are running upcountry thinking the virus won’t get there.

People in the village are getting information but they are not following the set instructions.
Most of them are hand to mouth so it is hard for them. GUARDIAN ANGEL SAID.

They are assuming the coronavirus is only in Nairobi.

They have the same mentality as some people who are living in Nairobi and assuming that coronavirus haiwezi fika ushago.

That is why you see some people are traveling upcountry as if Corona cannot travel there.’

Asked what motivated him to sing about coronavirus he said,

‘I was called by the Presidential Music commission. The song was to educate people about CoronaVirus and how to keep fighting it.

However the wakati wa mungu hit maker would not be swayed into revealing how much he was paid for the project.

‘God has blessed me, and it’s a project I enjoyed working on.’
