Celebrated media personality Betty Kyallo has hinted a comeback to the newsroom barely months after she terminated her engagement with Mediamax’s K24 TV. In her latest episode on Betty Kyallo Lately, the bubbly mother of one said that she is going to discuss the way forward with a media manager of a local TV station just to see if things can work out. The founder and CEO of Flair by Betty, a high-end salon parlour, disclosed that she was excited for the opportunity to meet with the manager and hoped that things will go well. “What’s up people good morning…? So, guys today my day is so interesting. Right now, I’m heading to a meeting with one of the managers of one of a local TV station they are interested in Betty,” she said in part. “Anyway, so I’m heading to a meeting with one of the managers of one of our local TV stations just to see if we can work together. I’m very interested because my fans have missed me on TV. Anyway, let’s see how it goes.”

In an interview with comedian Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, Kyallo clarified that she was not fired, but hinted that she felt that the media house was not appreciating her enough and therefore decided to call it quits. “I wasn’t fired. I’ve worked so hard to be my brand. I have built my brand with hard work, passion, commitment, and love. When I feel like I’m not being appreciated enough najitoa (I leave),” she said. Despite admitting that she was one of the highest-paid journalists in the station and in Kenya, the TV siren revealed that she had no clarity working for the media house. “It is not always about money. There is so much to look up for. You want to be appreciated, you want to be supported, you want to be given clarity, you want to know that no matter what this organisation loves me and they will take care of my brand and they will push me, they will challenge me and they want me to be better. That’s even bigger than money. Sometimes peace of mind is better,” she said.

That aside, she was a week ago forced to set the record straight on claims she dated Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho after rumours swirled of her whereabouts following the latter’s trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohammed. Opening up to Radio Maisha personality Billy Miya, Kyallo dismissed claims that she dated Governor Joho as false and accused a former friend of engineering the rumour. “No that was not true, sometimes I read stories online and wonder if they are talking about me. Anyway, that never happened. I and all my exes have never parted ways bitterly. You know sometimes when you move in life, some people are not happy, the story came from a former friend who went and said all those things but that was not true,” she added.
