The 3-day event starts today (May 5th) until May 7th
The annual Kalasha Film Market will stream live on Kalasha International’s YouTube channel. The event which started today is an initiative from the Kenya Film Commission sponsored this year by Safaricom.
The Kalasha International TV & Film Market is a 3-day trade fair showcasing companies both internationally and from the East African region. The market offers high-level interaction for trading, sharing ideas, with side events that include conferences, workshops, coaching and pitching sessions.
This year, pitching for TV, Movies, Documentaries, Short and long films will take place live on their YouTube channel. The pitching competition will be open to all practicing and upcoming filmmakers registered for the market. Individuals from East Africa will be given a chance to pitch a concept or project to potential investors in the following categories: Film – Feature / Short, Animated TV Series or animated feature film, TV – Series / Soaps Shows and documentaries.
Additionally, film stars such as Sarah Hassan will be holding a workshop about the challenges of production and international opportunities and challenges.
