Azimio’s running mate Martha Karua was on Saturday crowned as a woman of Honour in Kikuyu community.
The event which took place at, Kenol Town of Murang’a County signifies Karua’s political position among the Agikuyu and the reorganization of women’s leadership in the community.
The event was spearheaded by a Kikuyu woman elder Damaris Nyambura Kariuki who clothed Karua with Kikuyu tradition ligalia.
While speaking Mary Gethe, a Nyakinyua (kikuyu woman of honour) said the event was to crown Martha Karua to tour to all other counties and drum support for Azimio Government under the presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga.
Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Wanjiru Chege pleaded with women from different organizations to campaign door to door for Martha and Raila.
On her part, Karua promised to fulfill full implementation of their manifesto especially fighting corruption which is the to the growth of Economy.
