Sakaja Beats Igathe, Clinches Nairobi Governor Seat – GhettoRadio 89.5 FM

UDA Party’s Johnson Sakaja has emerged victorious in his bid to take gubernatorial seat of Nairobi City County in the just concluded elections.

The controversial  politician  bagged a total  of 699,392 against  his closest  competitor Jubilee  party’s  Polycap  Igathe  who managed  to garner  a total of 573,516 votes of estimated  over  two million  registered  voters.

In the senatorial  position  of  the capital, the incumbent  ODM  secretary  General  Edwin  Sifuna  has been  declared  the winner with 716,876  votes trouncing UDA candidate  Bishop Margaret Wanjiru with 524, 091 votes.

Nominated  Senator  Millicent Omanga has however  been  floored in the fierce  political battle  to dethrone  Esther  Passaris  of the County  Woman Representative in the National  Assembly position, in a bid to retain  her position  Passaris  garnered   698,929 votes against  closet opponent  Millicent  Omanga’s  586 246 votes.

The Nairobi City County senator  elect, Edwin Sifuna  speaking  after  declaration  of the results  promised  the residents  of Nairobi  City County  that he will work diligently  in his position  as Governor for the benefit  of all regardless of one’s  political  inclination.

“I know you know  whom you  have elected, you know  my capabilities, and efforts,…I will  wake up  early  to work for you for betterment  of City,” Sakaja said

Sifuna  also appreciated  his opponents  for  keeping  peace  during  campaigns  season promising  to work with  opponents  in the spirit  of  inclusivity.
