NMS commits to smooth handover to Governor Sakaja

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja Friday held a briefing session with Director General of Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Lt. Gen. Mohammed Badi and his team that has been managing the transferred County functions.

Sakaja who was accompanied by his Deputy Njoroge Muchiri commended NMS for its commitment and delivery of services after it took over the Health, Roads and Lands and Environment functions from the County Government.

“I want to first commend NMS for a good job done over the last two years. Transitions have a lot of uncertainties. I want a seamless transition process, my priority is to ensure that Nairobi residents continue to receive services because I have their best interests at heart. We have to make Nairobi work by restoring Order and offering our people dignity. Nairobi is full of opportunities and we owe Nairobi residents that much.” He said.

The Governor has spent the better part of this week meeting with sectoral heads for Nairobi City County as he familiarizes himself with County affairs.
The sessions are being used to brief the Governor and his team on the various functions and responsibilities of respective sectors, milestones and challenges in regards to Nairobi County.

Nairobi Metropolitan Services Director General, Lt. General Mohammed Badi promised to oversee a smooth and transparent transition.
