It’s all systems go at Ulinzi Complex in Lang’ata ahead of the arrival of the outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta where he will be granted the highest military honours as the Commander-In-Chief.
Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) spokesperson Esther Wanjiku said today’s event is in line with military traditions and custom to hold a farewell ceremony for the Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces.
“It is in line with the military traditions and custom to hold a farewell ceremony for the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Forces,” the forces Spokesperson Esther Wanjiku said.
Once done with the event at the Ulinzi Sports complex, President Uhuru will thereafter proceed for the Pulling Out of the outgoing Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces in the afternoon at the Defense Headquarters (DHQ) Hurlingham, Nairobi.
During the event, the military officers will pay tribute to President Kenyatta, who has been their leader for the past ten years.
President Kenyatta will officially exit the stage next week on Tuesday when his successor President-Elect William Ruto will take the oath of office on Tuesday at the Kasarani Stadium.
