Police in Dagoretti sub-County, Nairobi, have arrested a suspect who was found in possession of a homemade pistol and a grenade.
The suspect was intercepted at Delta Petrol Station in Kawangare 46 follow leads from members of the public, The police proceeded to ransack his house where the pistol, a tear gas grenade, a Nokia mobile phone suspected to have been stolen, a Samsung Tablet, and one machete among other items were recovered.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect and his male accomplice who is still at large, are linked to an earlier robbery incident that occurred this morning (December 26) and the same reported at Waithaka Police Station,” says the National Police Service (NPS).
“We thank members of public for providing information that led to the arrest and recovery of the items,” NPS adds.
The suspect is in custody pending arraignment in court.
