KISUMU, Kenya, Apr 8 — Fourteen passengers were hospitalized on Saturday after a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) they were travelling in crashed on a wall at Kisumu’s Maboleo interchange.

A preliminary police assessment blamed human error for the accident on the outskirts of Kisumu indicating the speeding driver had failed to negotiate a turn.

As a result, the driver lost control, hitting the Mamboleo interchange wall before bouncing back.

The PSV then hit a stationery vehicle and rolled.

The driver was also admitted at the same facility.

Meanwhile, the death toll from a Migori accident involving a tipper truck rose to 10 after three more survivors succumbed in hospital.

Six persons had died on the spot while another person died moment after arriving in hospital.

Eye witnesses said the driver of the truck lost control and rammed into pedestrians and boda boda riders who had parked their cycles by the roadside.

“Two people were thrown into the river, I witnessed that,” an eye witness recounted.
