Azimio leader Raila Odinga has now come out to explain to Kenyans on his whereabouts after series speculations.

Odinga while speaking with NTV says he has been battling chronic flu since the Wednesday demonstrations. He however, disclosed that he is recuperating well.

His absence in the political scene raised a lot of eyebrows among his supporters especially after his personal boardguard Maurice Ogeta was allegedly arrested by suspected police officers after onset of the 3rd phase of Azimio Demonstrations on Wednesday.

“Am down with a flu I was advised by my doctor to have some rest but I can assure Kenyans that I am recuperating well.” He said.

He says today’ is Azimio final demo this week is on asking his supporters to come out in large numbers.

Azimio Demands ICC to Investigate Police Brutality

Meanwhile the National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi has asked the International Criminal Court  to take an interest in the cases of police brutality emerging amid the ongoing anti-government protests.

“We have noticed an unprecedented level of police brutality on innocent Kenyans. We want the international community to take serious note of these happenings with a view to holding into account the perpetrators of these crimes,” he said. 

Wandayi further  called on  the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to ensure that those who are responsible are held accountable.

“We are formally asking the DPP to exercise their constitutional mandate and carry out impartial, independent and speedy investigations into this matter with the view of apprehending the perpetrators and charging them. In any case, it is against any provision of the Constitution to hold any person, not just an MP for more than 24 hours without producing them to court,” he said.
