NYERI, Kenya, Aug 4 – President William Ruto is set to unveil mega roads and water projects in his five days development tour of central region that kicks of tomorrow.
The president is also set to hold two meetings with political leaders from the region which overwhelming voted for him in last year’s general elections.
Addressing a press conference at the Sagana State Lodge, government spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said that the president will launch water projects in Kiambu and Kirinyaga on his first day and later in the afternoon address a public rally at Karatiba town.
While in Nyeri, the president who will be accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua will commission mega dams in Kieni whose funding is being processed at the national treasury.
Mohamed said that the development tour is geared at reinforcing the government’s resolve in the bottom up agenda which will ensure food security, better economy, and expansion of the tax base.
On Sunday, the president will attend an interdenominational prayers at Sagana state lodge before holding a meeting with sectional leaders ahead of the main meeting on Tuesday.
He announced that the president will chair a cabinet meeting on Monday before launching a road in mukurweini and water projects in othaya and Tetu.
A survey revealed that local leaders are mobilizing residents to attend all presidential functions where he will be.
