Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka popularly known by his stage name as Ruger has come out to address his Kenyan lookalike who has been impersonating him.
During an interview on BBC Extra, Ruger made it clear that he has no problem with ‘Ruger Wa Kayole’ performing his songs at concerts.
The ‘Girlfriend’ hitmaker expressed that his doppelganger is just trying to make a living and that he is not offended by him performing his songs.
“I wish him well ooh! I’m happy for him, and he is making his piece. Everybody must eat. When people were telling me that have you seen this? I was just like the man is trying to hustle and he is actually promoting my songs in a way.
The Afrobeats star adds, “He is not making his own songs and saying it’s Ruger who made the songs, so, at the end of the day, they will go back and stream those songs, and that is the most important thing. Abeg, everybody should calm down.”
For the past few weeks, Ruger Wa Kayole has been making headlines, impersonating the original Ruger at different events after his Kenyan show flopped.
However, in a recent interview, the Ruger lookalike made it clear that he is a diehard fan of the Nigerian singer and that’s why he likes dancing and even performing his songs.
Ruger wa Kayole mentioned that he started off as a dancer before his star started shining recently when people started comparing him to the original Ruger.
