The government has released Ksh 2 Billion to the Ministry of Agriculture for the purchase of the subsidized fertilizer to be sold to farmers.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri said the cheap fertilizers will be availed to farmers very soon as modalities for the procurement of the same have been concluded.
Speaking in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County while opening the Eldoret ASK Show, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri said plans are underway to ensure that farmers benefit from the cheap fertilizers.
Kiunjuri said he will be meeting key players next week to ensure there are no delays in availing the fertilizers.

On Maize supplies to National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), Kiunjuri assured that farmers who had supplied maize have already been paid.
Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago on his part recommended for procurement laws to be amended to enable direct procurement of the fertilizer to farmers.
