Likoni deputy OCS kills self after shooting dead woman

Likoni Police Station Deputy OCS, Joab Omondi on Thursday night shot a woman dead, and killed himself after an altercation.

According to witnesses, the senior police officer picked a quarrel with the woman identified as Peninah Kaimenyi at Lovely Bar before shooting her dead.

The two were said to have arrived at the bar at around 10pm before ordering drinks but later disagreed over an unknown issue.

Police rushed to the scene following the incident.

The woman was rushed to the Coast Provincial General Hospital for treatment where she succumbed to the bullet wound injuries.

The officer’s firearm, a Ceska pistol was recovered with 11 rounds of ammunition at the scene.

The bodies of the two are at Coast Provincial General Hospital mortuary with investigations ongoing.
