Kendall Jenner and boyfriend, Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons, 22, have reportedly split, according to Page Six, after the romance ‘ran its course’.
An insider told PEOPLE the couple are taking a break saying: ‘She’s spending time with her friends and back to being in fun mode.’
The couple were first linked in March 2018, but Kendall recently said she doesn’t know ‘how long it will last.’
She previously told VOGUE:
‘I’m very young and right now I feel like relationships aren’t always super-certain and I don’t want to bring too much attention to something if you don’t really know long term [what it’s going to be].’
When asked about the possibility that she might get engaged soon, she replied, ‘Maybe. Definitely not now, but maybe one day.’
However, as the interview went public, Ben was seen partying with friends at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, reports Page Six.
He and his entourage reportedly moved over to the strip club Scores later in the night.
Ben’s friends apparently mentioned that the celebrity couple had called it quits, and a source confirmed to Page Six that the two had ended their relationship.
Kendall seemed to be offering hints about the split the same night, as she posted moody tracks from Tyler the Creator’s new album, IGOR.
She shared the track I Don’t Love You Anymore from the break-up album, and also posted lyrics from the song Puppet to her Instagram Stories.
The song features the lyrics ‘I wanna call you and talk.’
Sources said that Kendall’s now ex-boyfriend had a ‘tall, super sexy brunette’ with the group, seemingly filling her role.
The basketball star reportedly turned away the topless dancers when they approached his VIP booth.
It’s not yet clear what led to their break, though Kendall has been remarkably tight-lipped about her relationship, which was first made public in March of last year.
There’s always the possibility that the two are only on a temporary hiatus.
There weren’t any obvious hints that Kendall was planning a break, based on her conduct when she sat down for the Vogue interview.
The dark-haired beauty FaceTimed Simmons before the interview started, and she even streamed one of his games while getting her hair and makeup done before the accompanying photo shoot.
Kendall’s interview also gave some insight into her choice to keep her now-defunct relationship out of the spotlight.
‘For me, a lot of things are very special and very sacred, like my friends and relationships, and I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier,’ she said.
‘I’m very young and right now I feel like relationships aren’t always super-certain and I don’t want to bring too much attention to something if you don’t really know long term [what it’s going to be],’ she added.
‘A relationship is only meant to be between two people, and the second you make it the world’s business is when it starts messing with the two people mentally. Like once everyone is let in, you’re letting all these opinions into your relationships, and I don’t think that’s fair.’
The reality star and the Australian basketball player went through ups and downs in their relationship, including a split late last year, during which Kendall was spotted making out with Gigi and Bella Hadid’s brother Anwar Hadid.
