Francis Xavier Asiimwe, the Co-Founder Chief Executive Officer of Kaaro Health and his counterpart Angella Kyomugisha
Co-Founder and CFO of Kaaro Health, together with Publiseer’s Chidi Nwaogu and Chika Nwaogu, have been selected to be part of the newest cohort of Halcyon Incubator Fellows in Washington, D.C.

The four will be part of the Cohort 11 Halcyon Incubator Fellows, joining 6 other promising social enterprises from around the world, tackling 21st-century challenges in education, healthcare, finance, and the arts.

Uganda’s Kaaro Health deploys telehealth-enabled containerized clinics within villages that otherwise have no clinic within a 25-kilometer radius. Kaaro Health ensures that healthcare entrepreneurs and their SMEs who are serving peri-urban and rural communities have access to qualified healthcare professionals as well as critical equipment in order to provide advanced medical care.

Nigeria’s Publiseer is a digital publisher allowing independent African writers, musicians, and filmmakers to distribute, protect, promote, and monetize their creative works.

Publiseer founders say they started to solve their own challenges as creators trying to get their work produced and published.

Other entrepreneurs in the new cohort are founders of Civic Suds, Doctory, Inobi, MiBolsillo, No Limit Generation, and OxiWear. By helping social entrepreneurs transform audacious ideas into scalable and sustainable ventures, the Halcyon Incubator acts as a catalyst for measurable social outcomes. It’s perhaps the most immersive incubator in the world that focuses on both social impact and profit.

The 8 entrepreneurs will be taken through an 18-month fellowship with free residency and workspace, mentorship and leadership coaching, robust support from business consultants, and a living stipend to develop their entrepreneurial vision into reality.

Sponsors and partners of the Fellowship include Amazon Web Services, Arnold & Porter, Bracewell LLP, Bush Foundation, Capital One, Daikin, Deloitte, The HR Sage, and S&R Foundation.
