Today, the late Major Captain Daudi Kimuyu Kibati will be laid to rest after his selfless heroic act.

Captain Kibati was born in 1958 in Mombasa.
He was the first born child of the Late Private James Kibati Kimuyu and the late Damaris Nzangi Kibati.
He was a brother to Mary Kibati (deceased),
Felistus Kibati (deceased), Geoffrey Mumo,
Lawrence Nyamu, Felix Mwikya (deceased),
Fred Mbua and Arnold Mwangangi.
His eulogy reads that he was neat, a strict disciplinarian and never fell out of good character.
In 1977 the late major (Rtd) Daudi Kibati, joined
the Kenya Air force as Flight Officer Cadet.
He rose through the ranks as; 1 Lieutenant (1977-1979), Lieutenant (1980 – 1983), captain (1983 –1990) and finally became Major between 1991-1994.

On 18 January 1994 he voluntarily retired to do commercial fying.
In one photo Captain Kibati captioned it with his own handwriting,
“A few minutes of joy? CAMP david.”
A little over a year ago, the Major (Rtd) Daudi Kibati pursued a degree in Law from the University of London on 5th March 2019.
