- Dance Moms’ Abby Lee Miller just clapped back at Good Morning America and Lara Spencer for what she said about Prince George taking ballet.
- Lara was previously accused of “bullying” Prince George on social media.
- In a new Instagram video, Abby Lee called out GMA and explained that the boys she taught ballet have grown up to be successful adult dancers.
ICYMI, Good Morning America co-host Lara Spencer has been getting slammed on social media after “bullying” Prince George for taking ballet lessons, per Us Weekly, and now Dance Moms Abby Lee Miller is clapping back at GMA and Lara with a new Instagram video.
The drama all started on Thursday morning when, during GMA’s Pop News segment, the co-anchor reported that the future King of England “will be putting down the Play-Doh to take on religious studies, computer programming, poetry and ballet, among other things.” According to Us Weekly, Lara was visibly holding back laughter and even paused for a reaction from the audience.
She then went on to say, “Prince William says George absolutely loves ballet. I have news for you Prince William: We’ll see how long that lasts.”
After the social media backlash, Lara apologized on Instagram for her comments. She captioned a photo of a mountain, “My sincere apologies for an insensitive comment I made in pop news yesterday. From ballet to anything one wants to explore in life, I say GO FOR IT. I fully believe we should all be free to pursue our passions. Go climb your mountain-and love every minute of it.”
But it was already too late. Fans, dancers, and now Abby Lee Miller herself are giving the GMA host a piece of her mind. In true Abby fashion, she didn’t hold back in a new video posted to Instagram.
“Good morning America, it’s time to wake up,” the famous choreographer and dance studio owner began. “I’m not even going to say her [Lara Spencer’s] name because she’s getting way too much publicity, and I don’t need everyone of my followers to start following her. That’s not what we want here. We want so much more.”
Abby went on to suggest that Lara donate her salary for an entire year to the arts, adding “That would be wonderful.”
She continued by opening up about her own experience teaching boys ballet and other forms of dance. “I have so many male dancers that I have trained that have amazing careers. Their Saturday morning ballet classes sure paid off,” she said. “They’re on Broadway. They’re on world tours. They’re in the new Steven Spielberg movie.”
Abby ends her clap back by saying, “Come on, it’s 2019. I thought this stuff was over. I guess I was wrong. And I’m not usually wrong. Anyway, i just wanted everyone to know that I think everyone should dance…” The video cuts off shortly after that, but you get the point.
