Human rights activist, Caroline Mwatha, will be buried Saturday at her husband’s home in Asembo Bay, Siaya County.
The body of Mwatha, who worked with the Dandora Community Justice Centre, was transported by road to her home on Friday.
Police reports showed she died after a botched abortion, a claim that her family and human rights groups initially disputed.
On Thursday, human rights activists and her friends and family honoured her during a memorial service at Uhuru Park’s Freedom Corner in Nairobi.

The activists also asked the government to fast-track the investigation to clear what they term as discrepancies in the police report.
Six people have been charged in court in connection to the death of the activist.
Mwatha was the founder member and a caseworker with Dandora Community Social Justice Centre which has been documenting, lobbying and calling for police professionalism, public accountability and an end to extra judicial killings.
