French national carrier Air France has said it will add two additional weekly flights between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in order to boost its expansion drive in Africa.

Arthur Dieffenthaler, Air France General Manager for Eastern Africa region said that the launch of the two additional flights will begin on April 1.

The increased flights comes a year after the French carrier resumed the Nairobi route after an eighteen-year break.

According to Arthur, the resumption of flights has also increased the number of flight bookings owing to the increased trade between Kenya and France.

He said this during a meeting with  French companies, convened by the French Chamber of Commerce in anticipation of the visit to Kenya by the French President, Emmanuel Macron.
