Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Monday, officially launched the Nairobi Festival, 2022.
The five-day event will take place at Uhuru Park where Nairobi residents will be entertained and exposed to Nairobi culture.
The festival is set to take place between December 12 and December 16, 2022.
Speaking during the 59th Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo National Stadium on Monday, December 12, 2022, Sakaja said festival will provide an opportunity for Kenyans to appreciate the city’s diverse food, culture and art.
“We are going to showcase the talent, the food, culture and art of our people. There will be performances from all the big artists, there will also be a street festival,” he said.
At least 16 locally produced films and documentaries are set to showcase during Nairobi Festival inaugural fete at Uhuru Park.
This will be the first annual Nairobi Festival to be launched to appreciate the city’s diverse food, culture and art.
Tickets for the festival will be going for Ksh.100 for adults and Ksh.50 for children.
