Pastor Godfrey Migwi

Pastor Godfrey Migwi of House of Hope church in Kayole has begged President Uhuru to allow churches to open its doors to worshippers. This is after Cs Muatahi Kagwe gave restaurants the go-ahead to operate but under strict rules – open from 5 am -4 pm and ensure all their staff have been tested for Covid-19.

Pastor Migwi, who works at BBC radio and preaches on Inooro TV, now wants churches to start operating just like any other business. He argues that social distancing among other measures will be observed during church services.

At your first briefing towards Covid-19 you just asked Kenyans to avoid gatherings but you never ordered the closure of the church but some people likes of CS Mutahi Kagwe in the name fighting coronavirus ordered the closure of church doors which is against our faith as Christians, in the Bible book Hebrews 10:25-27 states Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near. So fellowship of believers is very important to individuals, church and nation.

Again the importance of fellowship as Christians according to the bible is to encourage one another 1 Corinthians 14:26 What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification,’ he wrote in part.

He continued;

Now that the government has given restaurants the green light to reopen to the public for them to eat and drink soft drinks and alcohol from morning to evening in daily basis good to know, Jesus said in the book of ◄ Matthew 4:4 ►Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Matatus are operating daily transporting thousands of Kenyans daily, barbershops and salons are still operating, malls and supermarkets which serves more 10000 people per day so my question and of many Christians and church leaders who cannot maybe dare to write or speak their mind for the fear of antichrist and the opposers of gospel who only think that we assemble because of offerings only which is not true at all. If your government can allow all those services giver what about the church which is very essential to us all.

The church only gather one or two days per week and we can follow any guidelines from the government more than anyone else , others service givers do it on a daily basis, as a pastor and counselor many Kenyans are suffering depression which is manageable through talk therapy so when we gather many are healed through faith which men of God instill through the word.

I don’t want to ask where is the voice of religious leaders in Kenya? I know them very well, they fear and always rebrand themselves holier who can’t challenge or correct when things are not right in the country, but sir I have been trying to reach you via phone but I always kept on hold more than 30mins to be connected but all in vain, my message, in short, allow the church to continue worshiping God but under guidelines from the ministry of health.

Jids Njenga David Good pastor. If they don’t hear you, God knows how to fight for Himself.If God decide so &we have clearly seen God has done wonders in Africa, He can turn the tables. Even if church are asking so for money, nothing wrong, church also has bills n workers to pay, furthermore no one gives at gunpoint. Let the churches, mosques be opened and adhere to guidelines fm WHO

Blessed Davvi Well phrased mchungaji,am asking the same,why do they demean the church.May God intervene.

Henry Kiarie Chege Meetings in church is the last need for any nation. Talk of opening schools not churches.

David Mwaura Churches should remain closed. Worshipping is not limited to church (the building) only. Worship at home.
