– The Inter Milan boss guided his side to 1-0 win over Udinese to top the Serie A table

– Conte says Sarri should complain less as he is with the money bag in Italian football

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has sparked up ‘war of words’ with former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri who blamed Juventus goalless draw against Fiorentina over the weekend on sun.

The Old Lady dropped their first Serie A points at the Artemio Franchi Stadium last weekend despite the availability of their newly hired manager on the touchlines.

Sarri has been absent for his club since the start of the season after being diagnosed with pneumonia and missed his side’s first two matches.

After the encounter, the former Napoli boss blamed Juve’s failure to claim maximum points in that fixture on hot weather as reported by SunSport (UK)

Although, they picked up a point from the game, but it was not enough to keep them at the summit of the league table, as Inter top the log with nine points – two better than the champions.

We didn’t put in a good quality performance, it was a very complicated situation, as Fiorentina played well and we used up all our substitutions with injuries and had no more fresh legs to introduce,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

With all those variables, we did well in terms of character to get a point out of it. We lost possession too many times, which may also be a consequence of physical issues. Playing in mid-afternoon in Florence when it’s realistically still summer is tough for everyone.”

However, Conte couldn’t stop himself from dropping a jibe at his successor at Chelsea, saying. “I don’t want to say anything, otherwise we’ll have to start comparing balance sheets and financial resources.

“Someone ought to calm down, as he’s on the powerful side now.”

Conte had guided his side to a 1-0 victory over Udinese at the San Siro – with Stefano Sensi grabbing the only goal to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.

We are growing and I’m happy about our maturation,” Conte said. “But I also know that now you talk about us so you can beat us when something goes wrong.

Today we talk about Inter as Juventus’ main rivals. I know the game and it is what it is. But we have to keep our feet on the ground. Let others talk, we must shut up and work.”

TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte is the most paid Italian Serie A boss since his appointment by the club this summer.

The 50-year-old tactician was without a job for a whole year after parting ways with his former club Chelsea in August 2018.

He spent just two seasons with the Premier League club and delivered one Premier League and one FA Cup during his stay at the Stamford Bridge.
