A cafe in Mombasa has introduced an app that enables customers to access their menu, make orders, and reserve a table.
With the app, one is also able to access the location of the café, its YouTube channel as well get the loyal offers by the café.
MNKafé mobile app which was launched on February 25 has so far been downloaded by 130 people.
“An app is the perfect medium to consolidate popular products and services,” says Director of MNKafe Mombasa, Muhammad Nazir Khaki.
Cappuccino and latte art are the café’s forte.
Mr Nazir says the app is a major boost to his business as customers get quick services.
“We currently use our website for business information, menu and online ordering. Also, we use Whatsapp for instant messaging,” Mr Nazir notes.
“With the app we can combine a variety of services and put them in the palm of your hand.”
Aside from a range of coffee flavours, MNKafe also offers cakes, Belgium waffles, burgers and wraps.
“Through the app, one can order and delivery can be done within the Mombasa Central Business District,” Mr Nazir says.
If you check in at the café and you have downloaded the app, a QR code is scanned and you earn points.
“One can check in four times a day, after an interval of three hours if they want to get more points,” he says.
When the check-in points reach limit, the customer gets a reward, depending on the product they are buying.
Mr Nazir notes that the app will be upgraded frequently to meet the needs of clients.
“Loyalty features keep changing and are time-sensitive. This means that there will be constant updates and additions. The ability to order from your table via the app is also in progress,” the entrepreneur says.
“This will allow our guests to go through the menu and place their order, and it will go straight through to our printers after confirmation from our hosts,” he says.
The director, who is a professional chef, adds that the app will also have interactive features that will engage their customers, while offering discounted and/or free products.
Mr Nazir plans to roll out a restricted access to some parts of the app for VIP lounge guests.
Businesses, he advises, should always strive to provide quality services to their customers while stimulating their experiences.
The app does not come cheap for the entrepreneur.
“To implement the app costs money and time. A monthly fee applies to maintaining the app, as well as Google Play fees and soon, iOS associated costs,’Mr Nazir says adding that such investments are vital to keep up with the ever changing technology world, and provide an easier way to reach out to his customers.
The app is currently available on Android phones but Mr Nazir says it will soon be compatible with iPhones.
