The Azimio la Umoja coalition has rallied Kenyans to participate in the upcoming “Sufuria movement” during their planned anti government protests scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday to Friday this week

The opposition says the demonstrations aim to exert pressure on the government urging them to urgently address the high cost of living that is burdening Kenyans.

Addressing Journalists, Martha Karua, the leader of the Narc Kenya party, announced that the protests would commence at midday and continue late into the evening.

“Although Kenya is not at war, all police and other security officers have been recalled from leave to deal with demonstrators. Despite the intimidation, Azimio confirms the protests planned from Wednesday to Friday are on, as earlier announced, “she said.

Banging of Sufurias

Nairobi County will serve as the primary hub for these demonstrations, with three main gathering points identified: Joseph Kangethe Grounds, Jacaranda, and Kamukunji Grounds.

As part of the Sufuria movement, Kenyans have been urged to step out of their homes at midday and start banging sufurias and pans to represent the lack of food.

Meanwhile motorists have also been encouraged to participate by hooting as a sign of solidarity

“At Midday tomorrow we ask Kenyans to come out of their homes and bang sufurias, pots and pans to signify lack of food. The Sufuria Movement kicks off tomorrow and continues until the battle is won,”

However, amidst the opposition’s call for action, the government has issued a stern warning, emphasizing that any form of property vandalism will not be tolerated.
