IG Joseph Boinnet has urged IPOA to investigate Trans Nzoia incident where villagers in Kolongolo clashed with police leading to the death of two people.
Several people were injured during the clash as the villagers tried to rescue a suspect arrested by police in Trans Nzoia.
Police say an officer was forced to open fire when people tried to snatch a gun from him.
On Sunday, a violent clash between police officers and residents of Kolongolo village in Kwanza constituency, Trans Nzoia left at least five people dead.
Several others, including the Trans Nzoia county assembly Speaker Joshua Werunga, were injured during the confrontation that erupted at around 4 pm.
