Gor Mahia beat time wasting Hussein Dey of Algeria 2-0 at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday to keep their Caf Confederation Cup quarterfinals dream alive.
K’Ogalo went into the game against a backdrop of a 2-1 away loss to Angola’s Petro Atletico and needed just the result to bounce back.
The visitors spent the entire length of the game wasting time with all manner of antics to slow down the Kenyan champions who were tails up from onset.
But all the anti football tricks stopped in the 86th minute when Francis Kahata drilled home a lose ball from inside the box for the opener.

Chems Harrag was sent off for second bookable offense to compound Hussein Dey’s woes.
With the numerical advantage on their side, Gor Mahia didn’t sit back putting in the second through Rwandan Jacques Tuyisenge to kill the game with only added minutes on the clock.
The victory takes Gor Mahia to top of Group D on six points pending the results of the other match of the group between Zamalek and Petro.
