The Draw for the CECAFA Women’s Champions League 2022 was conducted in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday evening.
The draw for each zone was conducted at the Mohammed VI Complex Auditorium by CECAFA Executive Director Auka Gecheo.

Last edition’s finalists Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Fc are in Group A alongside Warrior Queens of Zanzibar, FOFILA of Burundi and Rwanda’s AS Kigali.
Group B is headlined by She Corporate of Uganda, Simba Queens of Tanzania, GRFC of Djibouti and Yei Joint Stars of South Sudan.
Speaking after the draw,CECAFA Executive Director reiterated CECAFA’S ambition to help develop women football in the region.
The CECAFA Women’s Champions league will also serve as the qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League and will be played from August 14-28th in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The CECAFA Executive Director said that the matches will be played at the Benjamin Mkapa and Chamazi Stadiums.
“The best two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals. We expect a very competitive and successful tournament, “noted Auka.
Defending Champions Vihiga Queens of Kenya will not be defending their title as Kenya is currently suspended by the world governing body FIFA.
