Bournemouth was the better side in the opening exchanges of the second half as Joshua King missed a golden opportunity to put the Cherries 1-0 up at Stamford Bridge.
Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale made a double save that kept out Abraham as both sides remained scoreless for most part of the game.
With six minutes left to play, Gosling pounced on a not properly cleared corner to head past Kepa Arizzabalaga to make it 1-0 after a long look at the VAR.
And that proved to be the match-winner as Bournemouth held on to seal the win after losing five straight Premier League matches.
