A warrant of arrest has been issued against Kibwezi West Member of Parliament Patrick Musimba and his wife Angela Mwende.
Senior Resident Magistrate Hellen Okwani issued the orders after the couple failed to appear in court to answer to charges of allegedly stealing 1 billion shillings from Chase Bank Limited.
Police have been directed to trace, arrest and arraign in court Musimba and his wife Angela for disregarding a court summon which required them to appear in court to face charges of theft of 1 billion shillings.
In seeking for the warrant of arrest against the couple, the prosecution informed Senior Resident Magistrate Hellen Okwani, that the suspects deliberately failed to appear before court despite being served with summons.

In the case, the legislator alongside his wife are accused of stealing the money alongside former Chase Bank chair Mohammed Zafrulla Khan and other former bosses between 23 January 2015 and March 2016.
The orders were issued even as former Chase Bank chairman Mohammed Zafrulla Khan denied the charges of stealing 1 billion shillings from Chase Bank Bank which has since been placed under receivership.
Khan will however spend the weekend at Kileleshwa Police station pending his bail application on Monday.
The prosecution in opposing his release informed the court that Mohammed Zafrulla Khan is facing three other criminal cases in court and is therefore a flight risk
