NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 29 — Agents from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two fraud suspects in Nairobi for obtaining money by false pretenses.
Kyalo Kilonzo and David Thuo Njehia were arrested along Ngong Road on Friday for defrauding the unsuspecting members of the public of more that Sh880,000.
“Posing as employees of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage ,the duo have been taking advantage of desperate Kenyan seeking employment by promising to offer them job in government agencies and State Corporation,” DCI stated in an update on Friday.
The DCI ambushed the two a moment before receiving an additional Sh100,000 from job seekers who had been assured of permanent and pensionable roles at the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company.
Upon interrogation, agents established that the fraudsters were habitual offenders on the radar of dectectives based in Nairobi’s Dandora.
The culprits had previously breached bail on a similar offense.
