In a yet again another clear indication that cracks in the ruling Jubilee Party are widening, Deputy President William Ruto could not hide his disappointment at the latest reports indicating that the party’s secretary general was the new strategist for an opposition party.

Ruto on Sunday took to his Twitter account to express his shock at the latest reports appearing in some of the local dailies that Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju was the new political strategist for Opposition chief Raila Odinga.
“So our democracy is so liberal that the SG of the ruling party has become the chief strategist of the opposition!! Maajabu,” the DP wrote on Twitter.
But responding to Ruto on his Facebook page, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria that the ruling party he was talking about died on March 9, 2018, when President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga came together in the famous handshake.

“Dear my good friend Deputy President William Ruto. Jubilee went into political bankruptcy on the 9th of March 2018. The nature and configuration of Kenya’s politics forced us into Article 11 Bankruptcy. Raphael Tuju is only a Receiver-Manager. Don’t attack the messenger please,” Kuria said.
Tuju was quoted in a local daily speaking about the handshake and the new friendship between him and the former Prime Minister.
Tuju said what has put them together is Raila’s new style of politics which is centred on unity and development.
“Right now the President is talking about the Big Four agenda plus fighting corruption and uniting the country and Raila is the interlocutor with the president as far as this is concerned,” said Mr Tuju.

He, however, said their working with Mr Odinga should not be misconstrued as aimed at gaining political leadership in the region.
“I have no interest in any political seat be it Siaya governor seat or Rarieda parliamentary seat. I have stated it before and I state it again. From the time I left active politics, I went back to private endeavours,” he said.
But Kenyans told the DP he was being given a taste of his own medicine after poaching politicians from the Opposition.
“You took Aisha Jumwa and Nanok it’s not Maajabu now it time to reap, said Hudson Mghanga

Others said Kenyan democracy was indeed liberal and that the DP was in office despite sabotaging his boss.
“You should be happy Kenya’s democracy is liberal. In other democracies, the Deputy President gets sacked just for contradicting his boss; but you still have your job despite showing your boss the middle finger all the time. Keep stretching your luck, Daktari,” said Gabriel Oguda.
