David Murathe, former Jubilee Vice-chairman now claims, deputy president William Ruto was denied Visa by American Embassy in Kenya to travel to U.S next week.
Ruto side had to clarify the DP could not have travelled to America as president Uhuru Kenyatta was to grace the swearing in of South Africa’s President elect Cyril Ramaphosa. Surprisingly President Uhuru was not invited for the South African event. Ruto’s side further claimed that most of the DP’s foreign trips were coinciding with the president Kenyatta’s whom they claimed was to travel to Canada for a women deliverance conference.
Talk has been rife that state house blocked Ruto’s United States trip that could have landed him to Canada .Ruto was to give speeches and meet Kenyans residing in the diaspora. These are Kenyans who would be voting for the first time in 2022.
The trip was seen as a campaign strategy in disguise of official state engagements by Ruto and his team who have defied numerous requests from president Uhuru to stop early campaigns.
A senior foreign affairs officer that organized the DP’s visit has been suspended for facilitating Ruto’s trip that backfired.
However on Tuesday the Foreign Affairs principal secretary denied any knowledge the suspension of the foreign affairs officer.
