DP Ruto’s ally William Chepkut says Aisha Jumwa’s arrest marks end of her political career ▷ Kenya News

Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut has claimed Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa may be rendered politically irrelevant after she was arrested in her own constituency on the night of Tuesday, October 15.

Jumwa was said to have been involved in a scuffle with ODM supporters in Ganda ward that saw uncle to the Orange area by-election candidate Reuben Katana shot dead on the fateful night.

As a result, Chepkut who is one of key allies of Deputy President William Ruto, noted the MP’s latest controversy and the fatal shooting may be the last nail on her political coffin.

“Arresting politicians has always been a glory point if their career. But for Aisha Jumwa, this arrest following the death of an innocent boy might mark the end of her otherwise shining career,” he claimed.

Katana was meeting agents at her home when the former Kilifi woman representative while accompanied by handful supporter stormed the place sparking chaos.

Jumwa accused ODM leadership in the coast region of planning to engage in electoral malpractices including campaigning even after the campaign period had elapsed.

Residents of Ganda ward will go to the ballot Thursday, October 17, to elect their MCA.
