Today has been punctuated by another brutal and senseless Easter murder.
At around 10:40 pm on Thursday night, the deputy OCS of Likoni is reported to have walked into Lovely Bar in Mtongwe where he fatally shot Peninah Kaimenyi.
The incident report reads:
“The officer – who is also dead – shot the said lady in the head, before turning the gun to himself in the head. The victim was rushed to Coast General hospital for treatment where she succumbed to bullet wound injuries.”
Adding, “The firearm Ceska pistol s/No.G5969 was recovered with 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition. Bodies were removed to Coast General hospital mortuary. The motive of the shooting is yet to be established. Case Under probe.”

The sister of the murdered patron revealed:
“I was seated with my sister and another woman when he walked in. That man did not even talk to us, he went to the shop and asked that the radio be switched off. It was switched off and people expectantly looked at him expecting him to say something. He did not.
She continued, “That is when he went and took his pistol and shot my brother who fell down and followed by fatally shooting my sister then turned the gun on himself.”
The police report says that the case is currently under investigation.
