The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam results will be released today after examiners completed marking the exam papers.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will first present and brief President William Ruto on the results before announcing them to the public.

The results will be the first release since Education CS Machogu took office and will also be the first time the results will be released from the new KNEC headquarters which took more than 35 years to complete.

Additionally, this will be the second last edition of the of the KCPE examinations before the 8-4-4 system is completely eliminated from the primary school curriculum next year.

The release of the exams will be followed by Form One selection in order to allow parents to prepare their children before schools open next month.

Around 1.2 million candidates were registered to sit for their KCPE exams administered in November.
