Eight killed in Kampaka accident along Kericho-Nakuru highway

Eight people have perished in a grisly road accident at Kapmakaa along the Kericho-Nakuru Highway Friday evening after a tanker and a 14-seater matatus collided.

Kericho County police commander James Mugera said five people died on the spot.

Three others died while receiving treatment at the Kericho County Referral Hospital.

The deceased include five men, two women and a two year old boy.

Six others are admitted at the hospital in critical condition.

Mugera said the accident occurred after a Nissan Matatu belonging to South Rift Sacco collided head on with a petrol tanker.
