Two people arrested during a raid at Elephant club associated with Musician Eric Wainaina in Muthangari over the weekend were arraigned on Monday at Cityhall court.
The two were charged with three counts of noise pollution, operating a club without licences and resisting arrest.
Others who were released on cash bail over the weekend and will be charged this week.
Addressing the media at Cityhall musician Eric Wainaina who was playing the music at the time of arrests, apologised to the Muthangari residents saying the same will not happen again.
‘‘We have learnt our mistakes and we want to apologise to the residents who were affected by the noise and we have agreed with the county government that going forward we will comply with regulations.’’ Wainaina said.
According to Cityhall Director in charge of noise Mwangi Mukuru, the club was too disorderly and the residents tipped them before conducting the raid.
‘‘The noise was so extreme but when we requested them to stop there were resistance that ensued followed by a brief scuffle.. we had to arrest them.’’ Mwangi stated.
The social media led by activists have been condemning the arrests and at some point activist Boniface Mwangi were siding with the artist and his crew.
The activists stormed central police station demanding for the release of those who were arrested but they were teargassed by the police.
