Although the task is extremely trivial and you might think nothing of it, comments on the mum’s post reveals that we all do it differently.
The Australian mum took to the Facebook group Home Decorating Mums to share two pictures side-by-side showing the most common ways to fold towels.
The post was captioned: “How do you fold your towels?” and unsurprisingly it brought a mixture of responses.
The first image showed “Option A” requires you to fold the towel in half and half again so it forms a flat rectangle.
“Option B” on the other hand involves folding the towel in half before folding one end into the centre of the towel and repeat with the remaining portion – this creates a much thicker, spa-like “rolled” finish.
The post received over 4,000 comments, with the majority of mums saying they folded their towels using option B – and anyone who commended the alternative approach were ultimately slammed reported News.com.au.
One person said: “God save anyone who folds like A in my house.”
A second admitted: “B. But my husband does A so the cupboard has a mix.”
But some said it depends on the size of their cupboard or the space their putting them as different methods take up varying amounts of space.
With a third saying: “(Option) A depending on linen space to keep them flatter.”
Another mum explained that she uses Option A as her shelf easily fits two towels, whereas if she used option B she’d have an empty gap and wouldn’t be able to fit as many.
A few others admitted they used neither technique and prefer to roll them like those in a hotel.
