Former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly has revealed his intent to alert FIFA over a controversial offside call that saw Ajax’s goal disallowed against the Blues.

Ajax hosted Chelsea for a crunch Champions League group clash played on Wednesday night, October 23, in Amsterdam.

But the encounter saw the Dutch giants fall to the English side, with Michy Batshuayi who came on as a second half substitute scoring the only goal of the match in 86th minute.

The hard-fought victory saw Frank Lampard’s turn around their Champions League campaign as they moved to second on the group standings.

The home-side was however left fuming after having a goal disallowed earlier on in the first half of the match.

Quincy Promes appeared to have handed Ajax the lead after poking home at the back post, only to have his goal ruled out by VAR.

But beIN SPORTS claim the wrong frame was used when the decision was reviewed.

The image that showed Promes as being offside was paused after the ball had left Hakim Ziyech’s foot by several feet, but another, at the point of release, appeared to show the forward onside.

“They use the technology on the rhythm of the slow motion, they did not take the time to really stop and take a look at the line and the distance of the ball from the feet of the player also,” Desailly said upon seeing the two stills.

“I am an ambassador for FIFA, I am going to show them this because it is an issue about the distance,” he divulged.
